Wednesday Nov.5th Assembly

This coming Wednesday November 5th at 11:55am four advanced instrumental study students will be showing off their stuff for the school.

Valerie Ding will be performing Beethoven and Rachmonioff
Conor B-K will be creating a composition on the spot as Consta Monsta
Nadya Okamoto will be performing "Falling Slowly" from the movie "Once" with Zach Alan
Ethan Hanson and his band will perform Red Hot Chili Peppers "Under the Bridge" featuring the Chamber Singers

It should be a grand time for all, I am looking forward to it.

Week Three

I finally got around to checking on my students blogs and everyone is on board.  Awesome.  Now, I want to see more interaction on here between my musicians.  We have a wonderful rage of skills: pianists, violinist, beat maker, rockers, rappers, dusters, singers…. so we should have plenty of things to talk about and learn.  Take time during your practice session to do this students.  Maybe practice for 15 minutes, check you blog, post and comment and practice another 15 minutes.  It should help keep us interested.

All Blogs are go!

All Advanced Instrument Student have their blogs up and running.  Next week we will be subscribing to one another blogs and begin posting comments.  The excitement builds….. Also of note is the first Assembly for student musicians will be Nov. 5th featuring 4 Advanced Instrument Students.

I feel like blogger is slow and I cannot easily access my students blogs and this is perturbing to me!

Good crew

I believe I have had a chance to at least meet all the Advanced Instrument Students' this year and I am excited about the group.  We've got a passel of piano players, but some violinists and a EDM maker.  Should make for some interesting music making!

And the first Advanced Instrumental Student of the year is….

Valerie Ding is practicing in the next room and is the first of potentially 10 advanced instrument students to begin their practice in the Creative Arts Center.  We are awaiting her first blog post about her first practice session of the year.  Looking forward to a great year of talented individual musicians.

Practice blogs

Students that are enrolled in the advanced instrument studies will be keeping a blog of their practices.  This is simply to have a record of each students work.  Each blog entry should include:

1) What was practiced and why
2) How the practice went and how the student feels about their progress
3) A musing from the instrumentalists whimsy
